What is Life-Giving, Transformative Education?
Over the past 42 years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside students and families in a variety of educational settings—homeschooling my own children, leading others, mentoring parents, and working in the broader world of education.
And through it all, I’ve noticed something:
Every educational model is forming children.
Not just academically—but spiritually, emotionally, and even eternally.
The question isn’t if education is transformative.
The question is: What kind of transformation is taking place?
What I’ve come to see—through Scripture, research, and years of personal experience—is that truly life-giving, transformative education always shares a few key traits. They’re not always tied to one method or model. Instead, they reflect the heart of God’s design for how children grow, learn, and become, and they can serve as guides for parent choices in education.
That’s what this new series is about: The Nine Traits of a Life-Giving, Transformative Educational Model.
It’s a series of short, thoughtful podcast episodes meant to help you think deeply—not just about how your child is being educated, but who they are becoming in the process.
We’ll begin on January 16th with an overview of this very important topic and then continue on January 23rd with the first trait: A Biblical View of the Child.
Because that one belief reshapes everything else—how we teach, how we disciple, and how we define success.
I hope these conversations will encourage you the way they’ve encouraged me—as a parent, an educator, a mentor, and a fellow traveler on this path.
Faith and Courage,
Lori
