From Stirred to Steady: Why We Created the Legacy Lens

I was sitting at the table in our big Class A RV—the same one where John and I have had countless discussions about the heart behind Legacy Parenting and about what we experienced over the 40 years we have been parents. We both had been feeling that we just didn’t quite have things lined up as effectively for our Legacy parents as they needed to be. Over our 40 years of parenting, I’ve taught spelling lessons, cleaned up snack crumbs, and prayed through hard parenting days—and there was a time when I knew things needed to change on that path too. And that’s when things started to fall into place for the next step for Legacy Parenting.

We’d finished two Discipleship Circle, and the feedback had been encouraging….but also weighty.

Parents had joined us, hungry for more than just ideas. They didn’t want another parenting strategy. They didn’t need more opinions.

They wanted truth—and a clear way to walk in it.

And I kept hearing the same thing:

“I know what you’re saying is true… but I don’t know how to hold onto it when life gets loud and the day gets hard.”

That’s when it became clear:
The Circles were starting something.
But what parents needed next was a way to build something—something lasting.

From Circles to Clarity

The Discipleship Circles began as a simple idea: What if we invited parents into meaningful, Spirit-led conversations around core issues like technology, cultural confusion, and the battle for their child’s heart?

But what happened in those sessions was more than just good content. What if it was content filled with questions and concerns that truly can only find solid direction from God’s Truth.
It was holy stirring.

We not just talking about parenting. We want to reawaken parents to the weight and wonder of discipling the hearts of their children—not out of fear, but out of faith.

In the Circles, we named what many of us are sensing:

  • That childhood is no longer protected

  • That truth is constantly redefined

  • That families are being shaped more by algorithms than by the Word of God

And we came back to this:
If we don’t disciple our children, the world will.

But when the Circle ended… some were left asking, What now?

Why the Legacy Lens Exists

The Legacy Lens Framework course was created as an answer to that question.

It’s not a program or a formula. It’s not about behavior charts or screen-time schedules—though you may see changes in both.

It’s a biblical framework designed to help you build your parenting around what never changes, even when everything else does.

In four foundational sessions, the Legacy Lens walks you through:

  • The Supremacy of Scripture
We’re not parenting based on trends or pressure—we’re building on God’s unchanging Word.

  • The God-Ordained Role of Family
Culture says children are projects. Scripture says they’re image-bearers. Your home is a place of discipleship, not distraction.

  • The Priority of the Heart
Behavior can fool us. But the heart? That’s where true transformation begins.

  • The Imago Dei
Your child is not just a personality to manage—they’re a soul to shepherd, made in the image of God.

If you’ve ever left a Legacy Discipleship Circle or listened to The Legacy Podcast with your heart stirred but unsure where to go next—the Legacy Lens is your next step. It’s the bridge between believing biblical truth and building your home on it.

Why It Comes With a Membership

When you enroll in the Legacy Lens, you’ll also receive your first month free inside the Legacy Parenting Membership—because we don’t just want to give you a course. Something that is just one-and-done and there you go…you are out the door on your own.

We want to walk with you.

The Membership is where the real-time conversations continue.
It’s where you get:

  • Access to ongoing teaching

  • Practical applications of the principles

  • Community with other families walking the same road

  • Accountability rooted in Scripture, not shame

It’s our way of saying: you’re not meant to parent in isolation.

We’re building a walking-by-the-way community of parents committed to raising children in truth, grace, and eternal purpose.

What This Isn’t (and What It Is)

Let me be clear:

  • This is not a method.

  • It’s not a magic solution.

  • And it’s not another voice telling you all the things you’ve done wrong.

The Legacy Lens is about seeing clearly again—through the lens of Scripture, conviction, and hope.

Because when we know what God has said—about Himself, our families, and our children—we stop parenting out of panic.

And we start leading from a place of peace.
